The other thing I wanted to share was that our Robot Doom blog is gone crazy with activity. I don't know if it's depression at the end of BSG or what, but MLW is posting nearly daily installments of terrifyingly true robot news...
Go check it out.

Attention car people...
(...so that would be like Dad and JADO....)
This site which explains how to treat your non-hybrid car as a hybrid sounds like a marvelous idea and a great way to help the environment. Tell me why I'm wrong. Do I need to worry about damage to my engine? What about the battery? There are some traffic lights down here that can last for two or three minutes or longer.
This, of course, is all while I save up for my new dream car, which sounds positively awesome.

The Ice Storm of DOOM!
Or at least that's what I've been calling it since yesterday. The birthday snow fizzled. And for that matter, so did the massive storm we were supposed to be getting. Although, if you ask me there were too many people ready for this one... so of course it didn't amount to anything. The weather folks are still playing coy, but I think they'll definitely have a forecast for Monday through Wednesday by something on Thursday...
A couple of amusing things sent in be various loyal readers (or something):
A couple of amusing things sent in be various loyal readers (or something):
- WPE sent in this t-shirt, which for those of you who grew up in the 80s might appreciate.
- SQ sent in this piece about Swiss Army sunglasses, though I think it might be satire...
- As well as this other bit, about the biggest Lego set. (You readers of Robot Doom know that we need to keep an eye on those Lego folks...)

70 degrees here in VA right now.
In January, which would be significant itself if it was just the one day, but we've had a lot of warm days in December and January. And every scientific publication agrees about the Greenhouse Effect. The reports that don't are the ones in the mainstream media. And the "scientists" paid by the energy companies to shill their opinions and turn it into a debate -- a tactic that worked for years and years for the tobacco industry. Weasels. Even the subconscious bias is annoying -- look at the headline for this article -- "Climate Experts worry..." as if no one else does, or the Climate Experts are a bunch of nervous nellies. Please, I think you'll all be worried when we're underwater...
In other, slightly less depressing news, there's been this scientific development, which, I'd imagine could be used to climb the tall buildings which may or may not be above the new water line...

And now for something completely different...
Brought to my attention by SQ. Here's the video. That's a big cat.
In unrelated news, I got this cool gizmo yesterday from the fine folks at ThinkGeek.com. It's going to let me rip all my cassettes and vinyl (records) into MP3's (and/or CD's). Coolness.
